Brief about RCT/EMPATHY: EMPATHY, founded in 1996, is a non-profit non-governmental organization that provides medical, psycho-social and legal support to victims of torture and their family members in Georgia.  It performs a significant role in the field of torture prevention and its persecution in Georgia.  When necessary, the Center conducts independent medical expertise conclusions, provides forensic medical and psychological/psychiatric expertise.  The Center is accredited with International Rehabilitation Council for Victims of Torture (IRCT) and is an active participant of European Network of Rehabilitation centers.  EMPATHY has partnership relations with “Penal Reform International,” with CVT (USA) and collaborates with the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), particularly in research projects. Average number of clients assisted by the RCT/EMPATHY per year is 500 persons.

The RCT/EMPATHY is announcing various vacancies for the Regional Caucasian Project funded by the EIDHR

Location: Tbilisi

Doctor Psychiatrist/psychotherapist – 2 persons –Full Time position (100 %)

Doctor Physician – Case Manager – 2 person – Full Time position (100%)

Doctor Neurologist – 2 persons – 25 % position

Head of Clinical Unit – Dr. Psychiatrist/Narcologist – Full time position (100%)

Head of Crisis Intervention and Forensic Unit (Dr. Physician or and Dr. Psychiatrist) – Full time position (100%)

Psychologist/Psychotherapist – 1 p. – Full time position (100%) and 1 p 25 % position.

Social Worker – 1 p – Full time position (100%)

Nurse – 1 p. – Part time position (50 %)

Art Therapist – 1 p – Part time position (50 %)

Head of legal Unit – 1 p. – Full time position (100%)

Lawyer – 1 p. – Full time position (100%)

Office manager (Doctor) – Full time position  (100%)

Project Manager (Qualified Doctor on Health Management) – 1 p. Full time position(100%)

Data Basa Secretary with good knowledge of Access Data base System and Excel, SPSS if possible – 1 p. part time. (50 %)

Communication Officer – 1 p. 25% position.

 

Salary: Dependent on qualifications

Probation period: 3 months

Scope of the assignment

 The main task of the project is to provide multi disciplinary assistance for victims of torture and their families.

 

 Required Qualifications:

  •  Higher education for doctors, lawyers, psychologists, art therapist, social worker, office manager and relevant education for other service providers.
  • Experience in working in human rights and medical field
  • Experience of work with torture and war victims
  • For Doctors minimum 5 years of work in the relevant inpatient service is required
  • Excellent computer literacy (Especially MS Office programs)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Fluency in Georgia, English and Russian required
  • Good organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good presentational skills, including an ability to present a topic orally and in writing
  • Strong sense of responsibility, well-organized, ability to work in a team environment
  • Willing and able to travel to Georgia occasionally.
